Sony Interactive Entertainment announces 27-inch gaming monitor with DualSense charging hook

Sony is releasing a new 27-inch gaming monitor that includes a built-in charging station for DualSense controllers. It’s planned to be available in the US and Japan starting in 2026, though the price hasn’t been revealed yet.

I just got the first scoop from Shuzo Kikuchi, a VP of product management at Sony Interactive Entertainment – here’s what he shared!

Since the PlayStation 5 launched, players have loved being able to play games wherever they want—on their TVs, around the house, or even remotely with PlayStation Portal. To give players even more options, we’re excited to announce our new 27-inch Gaming Monitor with a built-in DualSense controller charging hook, coming soon to the United States and Japan.

Our new PlayStation gaming monitor works great with the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers we just announced. These speakers deliver realistic sound and clear voice chat for gaming. Both products are designed to enhance the PlayStation 5 experience, giving players a fantastic visual and audio setup for gaming in their personal space.

Sony’s new 27-inch Gaming Monitor brings the incredible graphics of PlayStation 5 games to your computer, offering features like:

  • A Quad High Definition (QHD) IPS display up to 2560 x 1440 resolution, so players can game at a comfortable viewing distance from their desk.
  • High Dynamic Range support with Auto HDR Tone Mapping that automatically adjusts HDR settings during setup on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro consoles, ensuring rich and vivid picture quality.
  • VRR support and refresh rates of up to 120 hertz for smooth and seamless gameplay on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro consoles, and 240 hertz on compatible PC and Mac devices.
  • A built-in Charging Hook for a DualSense or DualSense Edge wireless controller (sold separately) that makes it easy for players to get right into gaming.

This new PlayStation monitor can be wall-mounted using VESA compatibility, and it offers a complete range of audio and connection options, including USB ports that work with the PlayStation Link adapter.

  • Two HDMI IN port (ver 2.1) and one DisplayPort IN port (ver 1.4) for compatibility with PlayStation 5, PC, Mac, or other devices.
    • HDMI IN port (ver 2.1) supports up to 2560×1440, 240 hertz, FRL, VRR; DisplayPort IN port (ver 1.4) supports up to 2560×1440, 240 hertz, DSC.
  • Two USB Type-A and one USB Type-C port that can be used with PlayStation Link Adapters or other devices.
  • Built-in stereo speaker and 3.5mm audio output.
  • Compatibility with select VESA mounting systems for a more flexible display setup.
