To build excitement for this week’s Tokyo Game Show, Sony partnered with Japanese influencer Mumeixxx to create four short, TikTok-like promotional videos for the PlayStation 5.
This is the newest in a series of promotional videos from the company, but instead of focusing on big ideas, it’s a shorter, more casual video designed for social media.
Mumeixxx is a popular online creator with over a million subscribers on YouTube. However, she’s even more well-known on TikTok, where she has nearly five million followers.
From the vertical aspect ratio to the fast editing, you can see what Sony’s going for here.

The videos showcase 14 new games coming to PlayStation 5, such as Ghost of Yotei, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, and the Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake.
There’s also a behind-the-scenes:
Sony is clearly trying to get more young gamers excited about the PS5 with this promotion, but they face a tough challenge. Nintendo is incredibly popular in Japan, and a partnership on TikTok isn’t likely to change that.
