Sony is offering a limited-time discount on the standard PS5 in the UK, with savings of up to £90. Between now and October 1st, the base PS5 Digital Edition will be available for £339.99.
Here’s how the temporary sale affects PS5 pricing in the UK:
- Base PS5 Digital
- £339.99 (-£90)
- Base PS5 w/ Disc Drive
- £434.99 (-£45)
I noticed they’ve got some great bundles right now! You can snag a PS5 with an extra DualSense controller, or even get two years of PS Plus Premium thrown in. The best part is, you can save between £45 and £90 on these deals, but you’ve only got until October 1st, 2025, to grab one, so I’m checking them out quickly if I were you!
However, the argument against this criticism is that the sale just brings the PS5’s price back to what it was before costs went up.
When the PlayStation 5 first launched, the digital-only version cost £360 and the standard version with a disc drive cost £450. Prices increased in August 2022 to £390 and £480 respectively, and the digital edition saw another price increase to £430 this April. This current sale temporarily lowers the prices, bringing them closer to their original launch prices.
