Sony Unveils QHD PlayStation Monitor With DualSense Charging Stand

Sony recently announced a new 27-inch gaming monitor with PlayStation branding during its State of Play event. The monitor also includes a convenient hook for charging your DualSense controller. While a specific release date isn’t available yet, it’s expected in 2026, starting with launches in the US and Japan.

This monitor features an IPS display with a sharp resolution, reaching up to 2560 x 1440 pixels. It offers smooth visuals with refresh rates up to 120 Hz on PlayStation 5, and an impressive 2450 Hz on PCs and Macs. Variable refresh rate (VRR) technology further enhances the smoothness. It also supports high dynamic range (HDR) content, automatically optimizing HDR settings when connected to a PS5 for a better viewing experience.

This monitor is simple to set up, as it works with standard VESA mounts. It offers two HDMI 2.1 ports, supporting resolutions up to 2560 x 1440 with both FreeSync and Variable Refresh Rate, as well as one DisplayPort 1.4 that allows for up to 240 Hz at 2560 x 1440 with Display Stream Compression. It also includes two USB-A ports, one USB-C port for broad device compatibility, built-in stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Since the PlayStation 5 launched, players have shown they like being able to play games wherever they want – on their TV, around the house, or even remotely with the PlayStation Portal. To give players even more options, Sony is releasing a new 27-inch Gaming Monitor with a built-in DualSense controller charging hook, available in the U.S. and Japan.

Sony isn’t new to making computer accessories, as they recently announced a new monitor following the September release of their Pulse Elevate speakers. These speakers were specifically created for PC gaming, offering high-quality, lag-free audio, plus a built-in microphone and woofers.

The Pulse Elevate speakers use advanced planar magnetic drivers to deliver rich, full-range sound. They perform well with PCs, and when connected to a PlayStation 5, they can also utilize Tempest 3D AudioTech for an even more immersive experience.

As a gamer, I’m really excited about these speakers! They’ve got some cool features, like AI that cancels out background noise so my voice chat is super clear. Plus, they connect to PlayStation using this new Link tech that gives you a really clean, lossless connection. But don’t worry, if you’re not using PlayStation, you can still connect them with Bluetooth – it’s nice to have options!

Similar to the new monitor, the Pulse Elevate speakers are also expected to launch sometime in 2026, though a specific date hasn’t been announced yet.
