Sony has noticed players are increasingly taking their gaming beyond the traditional living room setup, and this trend drove the development of their new 1440p IPS monitor.
This new accessory will be available in the US and Japan starting August 27th. It’s designed for PS5 owners and includes a special feature: a docking station that lets you charge your DualSense controller when you’re not using it.
This monitor has a clever, built-in hook that’s hidden away when you don’t need it. It’s a small detail, but it really sets this monitor apart and makes it especially practical.
When choosing a screen, price and quality are always important, and Sony highlights features like VRR, HDR, and 120Hz support for PlayStation 5. It can also be connected to a PC, where it can achieve an even faster refresh rate of up to 240Hz.
I find it really smart that Sony is focusing on Japan first – those smaller homes definitely make a device like this a good fit. But I’m really curious to see how well it does here in the US, especially at $349.99. It seems like a pretty fair price, so I’m hoping people will be into it!
This monitor would be a great match for Sony’s upcoming Pulse Elevate Speakers, though those aren’t available worldwide just yet. Sony expects to release the speakers later this year.
If you’d like to order the new monitor, pre-orders start at 10 AM Eastern Time on June 5th through PS Direct. However, there will be a limited number available, so be sure to order quickly.
If people respond positively, the company might consider releasing this product in other countries, such as the UK and throughout Europe.
