For those who have attempted to request a refund on a PlayStation Store purchase, it’s no secret that the procedure can be quite an ordeal.
Luckily, Sony has simplified the process for requesting a refund, making it easier than before.
Through your PSN account, whether accessed via the PlayStation app on mobile devices or the PlayStation Store website, you now have the convenience of clicking a button as you review your previous purchases, initiating a request for a refund.
Here’s the process via the website:
- Log into your PSN account
- Click your avatar, then Account Settings
- Click Transaction History
- Find an eligible purchase you wish to have refunded
- Click it, then click Request Refund
On the application, the process is quite alike; once you’re logged in, press the menu icon and pick ‘Transaction History’, then select a transaction, and finally, opt for ‘Request a Refund’.
Instead of navigating through the complex process of requesting a refund for your PS Store purchases, this method offers you a more straightforward approach. In the past, the process was considerably more disorganized.
It’s worth mentioning that although this is positive news, it’s important to remember that the PlayStation Store’s refund policy maintains its stringency regarding the specific items eligible for a return.
In a nutshell, you can get a refund if:
- Your purchase was made within 14 days of the refund request
- You haven’t downloaded or streamed the item
- If it has been downloaded or streamed, item is found to be faulty
The full policy lays things out in much more detail, but that’s the gist.
Still, it’s good that requesting a refund has been made easier, at least.
Instead of using “put yourself through,” you could say, “Have you gone through Sony’s old refund procedure before?” or simply, “Did you experience the previous refund policy at Sony?” For the comments section, you might invite people to share by saying something like, “Please feel free to share your experiences with the older refund process at Sony in the comments below.
