
The game development studio, Sucker Punch, announced that the upcoming title, Ghost of Yotei, is now officially in its final production stage, with a scheduled release date of October 2nd, less than a month away.
In simpler terms, when a game goes ‘gold’, it’s ready for sale at stores. However, this doesn’t guarantee that the game is flawless; there may still be updates or patches once it’s released, which is common these days. But the version that will be uploaded to Sony’s PlayStation Store for purchase is essentially the final one before mass production begins.
Put simply, from now on, we can expect the previously mentioned date to hold firm, provided nothing unexpectedly catastrophic happens in the coming days or weeks.
For around five years now, the sequel to the acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima has been in production. The original game, titled Ghost of Yotei, was released for PS4 in the summer of 2020. With high hopes that it will deliver an open-world experience worthy of what we consider one of the most polished adventure games on PlayStation, we eagerly await its release.
