We now have some additional details about Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, the fighting game for PlayStation 5 that Sony will be publishing.
Interestingly, this new information appeared on the game’s Steam page, which was recently updated (as noticed by Wario64). It seems likely this reveal is timed to coincide with Marvel Tokon’s expected appearance at the upcoming State of Play event.
The main news is that the game will launch with 20 characters you can play. This is a bit more than some people anticipated, considering only eight have been revealed so far: Captain America, Doctor Doom, Ghost Rider, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, and Storm.
However, since this is a team-based fighting game with four players per side, some may wonder if 20 characters are enough to maintain long-term interest, especially before any downloadable content is released.
We don’t yet know who the other twelve characters are, but we expect some announcements during this week’s State of Play event.
The game’s Steam page also highlights a single-player ‘Episode Mode’ designed to help players learn the ropes and discover the story behind the game.
