Digital Extremes has launched a new holiday update for the early-access version of Soulframe, called “Preludes,” which is now available on PC. This update includes a special seasonal event called “Thawtide Holiday,” plus new runes and various improvements to make the game experience better.
Players can now find three new runes for the flyblade, greatsword, and polearm. The update also includes improvements to Ode’n Walls, adding new ways to enter and exit, and increases the rewards you get from Faction Tale side quests. The Thawtide Holiday event is live until January 20th, bringing a new cosmetic item, Cardinal Sparrow Guide bird skins, a new bow, and a new dagger. Washed ashore on the northern isle of Midrath, a new adventure begins.

Although Soulframe is currently scheduled for release in 2025, the developers caution that this is an ambitious goal. Community Manager Sarah Asselin explained they’ll evaluate their progress by the end of the year and only launch when they’re confident the game is polished and enjoyable for both players and the development team. While Digital Extremes hasn’t officially announced which consoles Soulframe will be on, it’s expected to be available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC, just like Warframe.
