When the show’s renewal was officially announced, nobody predicted what would happen next. It unexpectedly came back for two seasons filmed one after the other, and the most recent season, Season 28, just finished airing.
From its surprising start, the animated Comedy Central series promised a chaotic and funny show. The two most recent seasons were packed with political jokes and featured characters like Jesus and Satan. They heavily focused on Donald Trump’s time as president and were incredibly popular with viewers. Season 28 revisited some fan-favorite plots and took a surprisingly dark turn with a storyline involving Satan and Trump’s child.
During its first two seasons, South Park often faced criticism from politicians and the White House, especially those portrayed on the show. This backlash actually seemed to inspire the series to become even more outrageous, and the Season 28 finale perfectly captured all the show’s controversial themes.
Following a controversial storyline involving the President having relationships with Satan and his Vice President, the show concluded by hinting at the birth of their child after Satan’s extended pregnancy. One headline described the arc as nearing its conclusion with the phrase, “Trump demon span nearly here.”
The Season 28 episode “Crap Out” concluded the show’s storylines, particularly the pregnancy plot. Because the father was the Devil and the mother human, the baby was predicted to be the Antichrist, potentially triggering the end of the world according to Christian beliefs. The show attempted to prevent this by having billionaire Peter Thiel kidnap Cartman.
Okay, so the season ended with a truly bizarre team-up. We’re talking Trump, Vance, Thiel, and even Jesus all working together to stop Satan’s… well, let’s call it a pregnancy. Satan, naturally, had an ally in Stan, trying to ensure things went forward. But then came a huge twist – a doctor revealed the baby, thought to be the Antichrist, actually took its own life before it was born. It was a dark, unexpected turn, and honestly, a bit of a shocker.
The scene carried a disturbing symbolism, referencing Jeffrey Epstein’s death. The show depicted the baby seemingly taking its own life with its umbilical cord while still in the womb, drawing a parallel to the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s suicide. Like the questions surrounding the footage of Epstein’s death, the ultrasound video also appeared to have missing sections.
After a surprising turn of events, Trump is back in the White House, and Satan has moved out, taking everything prepared for the baby with him. This suggests the show will continue for a 28th season. Meanwhile, Kyle gets what he wanted – his house is restored, with help from Jesus.
South Park Seasons 27 and 28 Sparked Multiple Fan Debates
South Park has always addressed political issues, but recent episodes have faced more criticism than usual. This is likely due to the current social and political climate, as well as increased sensitivity on social media, especially concerning its portrayal of Trump and the White House.
Despite everything, the show remains incredibly popular. The Season 27 premiere of South Park broke records, attracting 430,000 viewers, and the show has been renewed for Season 29, expected to air in 2026.
