The show’s wild and unpredictable humor keeps viewers on their toes, and they recently surprised everyone again by releasing a new season completely out of the blue.
The latest episode, called “Twisted Christian,” started the show’s 28th season, which surprised many viewers. TheWrap reports that the reason for jumping to season 28 isn’t clear.
The episode’s content doesn’t break new ground either, continuing the storylines from season 27, which largely focus on parodying Donald Trump and contemporary American politics.

When is South Park season 28 episode 2 released?
The second episode of South Park season 28 will premiere on October 30th, 2025, at 10pm on Comedy Central in the UK. It will then be available on Paramount Plus soon after.
UK fans will now only be one day behind US viewers, mainly because of the time difference between the two countries.
How many episodes are in South Park season 28?
Honestly, it’s hard to say for sure! However, if things stay on track, we anticipate season 28 of South Park will have five episodes.
According to TheWrap, Trey Parker and Matt Stone still intend to release ten new episodes of their show this year. These will likely be split into two parts: the five episodes originally planned for season 27, and another five that will make up the start of season 28.
