The latest episode of South Park, season 28, episode 5, featured the return of Towelie, but don’t anticipate seeing him frequently in future episodes. The season also revisited a previously unresolved storyline in episode 4, “Turkey Trot,” where Randy Marsh revealed his family had lost all their money and a home after Tegridy Farms went out of business.
Luckily, the season 28 finale of South Park resolved the recent storyline without revisiting the controversial marijuana farm plot. In the episode “The Crap Out,” Stan confronted Jesus about his change in attitude, and Jesus, realizing his mistake, granted Stan a Christmas miracle.
South Park’s Season 28 Ending Finally Explains Towelie’s Fate
Jesus wasn’t the only familiar face to reappear in this recent, wild episode of South Park. Towelie hadn’t been seen on the show for years, but made a comeback in season 27’s third episode, “Sickofancy.” Unfortunately, things didn’t go well for him – the episode ended with Towelie stuck in the White House alongside Satan, Donald Trump, and JD Vance.
With South Park consistently poking fun at the Trump administration throughout its 28th season, it wasn’t surprising to see Towelie make a big comeback in the finale, “The Crap Out.” The episode revealed that Towelie had been having an affair with Vance, and Satan discovered this when he found the talking towel in a White House bathroom.
When Trump, Vance, and tech billionaire Peter Thiel tried to stop the birth of the Antichrist, Satan and Towelie angrily intervened. Despite their efforts, they failed, and as Trump, Satan, and Vance went back to the White House, Towelie disappeared, leaving his fate a mystery.
South Park Season 29 Is Unlikely To Bring Back Towelie
Towelie’s surprise appearance in “The Crap Out” was a good moment, but don’t expect to see much more of him in season 29. He wasn’t a big part of seasons 27 and 28, and his role as Randy’s partner during the Tegridy Farms storyline has now come to a definite end with that episode.
With Jesus giving the keys to his house—not Tegridy Farms—to Stan, it’s likely the storyline about the marijuana farm is finished. In its 28th season, South Park also brought back some older, rarely-seen characters and changed how new episodes were released, effectively ending several ongoing trends.
It doesn’t seem likely Towelie will return in season 29, as South Park has moved past its storylines involving Randy and is focusing on new narratives. However, South Park is known for being unpredictable, so a Towelie comeback could mean he’ll play a significant part in the upcoming episodes.
