I’m super excited to share that Space Chef, the cooking adventure game I’ve been following, is officially launching on October 28th! Kwalee and BlueGooGames just announced it’ll be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC through Steam. I can’t wait to try it out!
Here is an overview of the game, via Kwalee:
About
Embark on a delightful adventure with a blend of restaurant management, light survival RPG elements, and life simulation, all within the quirky world of the Horseshoe Nebula. You play as the galaxy’s rising star chef, tasked with finding the best ingredients on alien planets. Prepare mouthwatering meals and serve them to customers from the cozy setting of your very own, customizable space trailer.
Explore Alien Worlds
The possibilities for ingredients are endless… as long as you don’t become dinner yourself! Travel to far-off planets, abandoned space stations, and even your own basement to find plants, creatures, and other delicious items.
As you travel, you’ll encounter space pirates, old ruins, and a strangely large number of restaurants that have been recently left empty. Be sure to search for valuable resources-and even seemingly useless junk-which you can use to improve your equipment, cooking tools, and spaceship.
Cook Up Cosmic Creations
Now that your fridge is filled with ingredients that are (generally) no longer moving, it’s time to turn the sign and begin serving customers!
Create more than 140 unique dishes, ranging from easy-to-make Beefle Skewers to the famously challenging Octoegg Surprise. Impress your customers with tasty food and fast service, and you’ll receive the Astronomical Culinary Excellence Stars that guide you towards becoming a top chef in the galaxy.
As your business becomes well-known, customers will naturally start seeking you out! You can stay adaptable by keeping your delivery option available, or you could expand and open a restaurant where people can dine in – ensuring a steady stream of customers. Plus, you have the freedom to temporarily close the kitchen whenever you feel like pursuing something new.
Set a Stellar Ambiance
Your space-trailer may not be much to look at on the outside, but it’s amazing on the inside. You have full control over the interior design, with the ability to place decorations anywhere and a detailed coloring system to build the restaurant you’ve always wanted. Expand with new floors, design distinct themed areas, and furnish it with items you discover during your adventures!
Serve the Nebula
The people living in the Horseshoe Nebula aren’t just looking for their next meal (though many are!). You’ll meet characters like Zoe, who collects and sells scrap, Jack Bronzon, a once-famous Space Ace now past his prime, and Zlurka, the bartender who insists he’s not an alien, among others. As you strive to become a renowned interstellar chef, you’ll discover special recipes, engaging side quests, and even the possibility of romance – if you can keep your customers happy. Discover new recipes and more!
Together with your new friends, you’ll discover what happened to your missing grandma and confront Galactic Burger as they attempt to take over your territory in space.
