Taking on a major role in a comic book movie comes with a lot of pressure. But if you’ve already appeared in Marvel movies with stars like Paul Rudd and Michelle Pfeiffer, and you’re known for your work in horror, it’s understandable why you’d be eager to accept such a challenge.
Madeline McGraw has her sights set on joining the Spider-Man universe. In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, she shared her dream of playing Spider-Gwen or any character from the franchise, saying she’s a huge fan and deeply drawn to that world. Interestingly, the role of Gwen Stacy might become available. While Hailee Steinfeld voiced Gwen in the animated *Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse* and *Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse*, Steinfeld already plays Kate Bishop in the live-action MCU series *Hawkeye*, which could open the door for a new actress to take on the role if Gwen Stacy appears in live-action.
Does McGraw Have What It Takes To Pull Off Gwen Stacy?

Evangeline Lilly is well-known to Marvel fans as Hope Van Dyne, Ant-Man’s daughter, having appeared in both *Ant-Man and the Wasp* and the *What If…?* series. She’s also starring in the upcoming horror sequel, *The Black Phone 2*. In fact, filming for the first *Black Phone* movie was delayed for nearly a year so she could join the cast. Director Scott Derrickson was determined to have her play the role of Gwen after being incredibly impressed by her audition, even risking the availability of Ethan Hawke to make it happen. McGraw expressed her gratitude, saying she was amazed that Derrickson would go to such lengths for her and she’ll always be thankful for the opportunity.
She clearly has the talent and stunt skills – demonstrated in *The Black Phone 2* – to convincingly play a live-action Gwen Stacy if Marvel ever decides to introduce the character. With the MCU constantly evolving, now would be a perfect time to bring Ghost-Spider to the big screen with a new actress.
