Renowned action star Jackie Chan, last seen gracing our screens in the recent release Karate Kid: Legends, has recently disclosed his visit to the set of Marvel Studio’s upcoming project Spider-Man: Fresh Start.
How is Jackie Chan involved with the production of Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
In a recent interview with HK01 (via ComicBookMovie), Chan revealed that he traveled to London to see the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day because his own stunt team is contributing to the Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
In my role as the action director, I was leading the Jackie Chan Stunt Team during the filming of Spider-Man, as I clarified.
Unfortunately, it seems that Chan won’t be featured in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as he’s not involved in the film’s production. During a visit to watch rehearsals, director Destin Daniel Cretton was surprised to see him. Chan clarified that they are part of his team, but expressed admiration for Tom Holland’s dedication, noting that Holland has paid homage to Chan’s films in several action scenes and even performed some stunts independently.
Production for Spider-Man: Fresh Start commenced on August 1, 2025, starting with on-location filming in Glasgow, Scotland. Later, it shifted to Pinewood Studios in England for indoor work. Photos and videos from Fresh Start have captured Holland filming action sequences involving a tank, while there are also whispers about an upcoming fight scene involving Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, both of whom are set to appear in the sequel confirmed within the MCU.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) brings back several familiar faces like Michael Mando as Scorpion, Zendaya as MJ, and Jacob Batalon as Ned. New additions to the series include actors Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Tramell Tillman, although their specific roles are not yet revealed. It’s been rumored that Sink will be an ally to Peter Parker, while Tillman might be one of the secondary villains.
The movie titled “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is set to hit theatres through Sony on July 31, 2026, and it will be a part of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) Phase 6.
