Spider-Man: Brand New Day Adds 4 More Villains to Its Massive Rogues’ Gallery

The upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie is expected to introduce a significant group of street-level villains. Like the next Avengers film, details about this Spider-Man movie are being kept under wraps, and fans are eager to find out who will be the main villain. Though many villains are likely to appear, it’s still unknown who will take on the role previously held by antagonists like Vulture, Mysterio, and Green Goblin.

According to a report by Daniel Richtman on Patreon, four members of the Enforcers will be featured in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Enforcers are a group of low-level villains who usually work as bodyguards for bigger crime lords like Tombstone and Kingpin—one of whom is already set to appear in Spider-Man 4.

An insider with knowledge of Marvel Cinematic Universe plans saw concept art of the Enforcers, but didn’t know how they’d be used in the Brand New Day storyline. They did reveal the group consists of four members.

Frederick Foswell

Frederick Foswell is a character in Marvel Comics who works as a reporter for the Daily Bugle. However, he secretly lives a second life as the Big Man, a criminal boss who leads a group called the Enforcers.

Despite going by the name Foswell, he’s far from a powerful figure. He’s actually a small, shy reporter who works for J. Jonah Jameson. To hide who he is, he uses a mask, lifts for his shoes, wears a bulky jacket, and alters his voice.

Montana

Montana is a villain often portrayed as a cowboy, famous for his skill with a lasso. He previously led a group called the Enforcers.

Okay, so here’s something cool I just learned. The guy who plays Montana, Jackson Brice, actually was the original Shocker in Spider-Man: Homecoming! But Vulture, played by Michael Keaton, pretty much… well, vaporized him. That’s why there was a new Shocker, and he recently hinted that his time in the MCU might not be done yet. He said he has a “feeling” about it, which is pretty intriguing!

Fancy Dan

Daniel Britto, who later became known as Fancy Dan, learned martial arts like judo and karate while growing up in Brooklyn, New York, as a way to protect himself.

Before becoming an Enforcer, Fancy Dan was married to Ginger Loyola. They divorced, and Ginger moved to Atlantic City with their son, Rudy.

Ox

Raymond Bloch, known as Ox, is the Enforcers’ strongest member – essentially their powerhouse – though he isn’t the brightest.

Interestingly, characters similar to Fancy Dan and Ox already appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They functioned as a duo mirroring the Enforcers, villains Spider-Man defeated in a comic book story that took place before the events of Homecoming. However, these comic book tie-ins aren’t typically considered official parts of the MCU’s storyline.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Reportedly Has 10 More Villains (Yes, Really)

In addition to the recently revealed Enforcers, the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day storyline will feature plenty of villains, with many fans especially excited about Michael Mando, known from Better Call Saul, playing Scorpion. The story will apparently involve a prison escape, where Scorpion is freed by enemies who are controlling minds – he’s been locked up since a scene after the credits of Spider-Man: Homecoming almost ten years ago.

After battling alongside Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will be back in Phase 6 and will go head-to-head with Spider-Man.

While Vincent D’Onofrio won’t be returning as Kingpin in the next Spider-Man movie, another crime boss will appear: Marvin Jones III is back as Tombstone, the character he played in Into the Spider-Verse. This is the most grounded, street-level addition to the planned Brand New Day storyline so far, and there’s talk that Tombstone could appear in future Spider-Man films as well.

Rumors continue to circulate about the villains who might appear in Spider-Man 4, particularly the main antagonist. Reports suggested they were looking for a strong, intimidating female villain between the ages of 30 and 50. Since no known villains fit that profile, it’s possible the movie is still holding some surprises, perhaps connected to the Brand New Day storyline.

The Department of Damage Control, previously seen in the Disney+ series Wonder Man, will also appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as a group now focused on opposing mutants. They’ll be tracking down the enigmatic character played by Sadie Sink, and will be joined by a new member, William Metzger, played by Tramell Tillman from the show Severance.

Spider-Man will soon face off against the Hand, a villainous group known from the Netflix series Daredevil, in his comics. They’ll be appearing in traditional red ninja outfits. While the Hand has ties to the Defenders Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Charlie Cox, who played Daredevil, won’t be joining Spider-Man in this fight.

The new series, Brand New Day, will include a group of lesser-known villains – Tarantula, Boomerang, Ramrod, and 8 Ball – but it doesn’t explain how they all team up. These characters include an upgraded mercenary, a villain who throws tech-based weapons, a cyborg, and a character with a pool theme.

It’s hard to see how all the different ideas for Spider-Man 4 will actually fit together. Some fans think it might include a fast-paced sequence of battles, similar to what was done in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, or that the story will take place at The Bar with No Name, a known meeting spot for Marvel villains.
