I’m so hyped! The first look at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer is finally here, but it’s… different. Tom Holland revealed they’re releasing it piece by piece! Different social media influencers are posting little clips on Instagram, and we’re all trying to collect them. It’s a really cool way to build excitement, and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together as we get more and more of the trailer!
I’m really excited about what Holland’s doing – it feels like a special way to celebrate all of us fans, and they’ve invited creators from all over the world to be a part of it. It’s a bit chaotic though! They’re releasing clips randomly, and we’re all constantly refreshing our feeds to make sure we don’t miss anything. Honestly, it reminds me a lot of that Avengers: Doomsday marketing stunt they pulled last year – it’s definitely a very Marvel kind of move!
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is Borrowing a Trick From Avengers: Doomsday
The concept is straightforward: transform a simple announcement into an all-day experience to really capture people’s attention and boost brand recognition. Marvel successfully used this strategy last March when they revealed the cast of Doomsday through a live stream. It wasn’t just a quick reveal – the stream lasted for hours, slowly panning across chairs, each revealing a different actor in the film. They even included fun surprises, like chairs representing characters from the Fox X-Men movies. Now, about a year later, Marvel and Sony are trying something similar.
It’s understandable why they’re trying this new approach – using passionate fans as part of their marketing is a natural step, and that recent post from a mom influencer was actually pretty endearing. However, it’s not really taking off as planned. The chair reveal was predictable and consistent, but these new clips are being released randomly. To make matters worse, other accounts are reposting the clips without giving credit, which feels disrespectful considering the situation, and is just flooding everyone’s feeds with the same content.
The fact that “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is trending confirms the strategy is effective. The trailer’s impact will last for days. However, fans are a bit frustrated, mainly because the initial clips were more about mood than substance. They included a beautiful recreation of the cover of Amazing Fantasy #15, a mysterious shot of Peter Parker collapsing, a standard action pose of Spider-Man, and one very strange clip. Hopefully, more meaningful reveals are coming later today.
Fans Aren’t Impressed By Marvel’s New Marketing Approach
The recent trailer release for the new Spider-Man movie didn’t really work. While the idea of releasing it in parts was good, it seems like someone dropped the ball, and these short, disjointed clips aren’t showcasing the film very well.

Marvel’s current marketing strategy focuses on generating excitement, but it’s not giving audiences a good feel for the movies themselves. It relies on creating a general impression rather than showcasing actual content. While trailers shouldn’t reveal everything, they should give viewers a clear idea of the film’s story and overall feel, leaving them confident about what to expect. Right now, Marvel’s marketing has only told us that the new film, Brand New Day, is a Spider-Man movie – it hasn’t given us much substance.
Sony and Marvel, those short two-second clips of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer on X are becoming annoying. We’re as eager as you are, so please just release the full trailer!

It’s funny, but many fans are actually enjoying seeing Peter Parker struggle. A lot of Spider-Man fans have always gotten a strange sense of satisfaction from his bad luck – the idea that things rarely go right for him. However, the unusual way the trailer was released is becoming more interesting than the movie itself. It feels like a marketing trick, and it’s drawing attention to the promotion instead of building excitement for the film.
Sharing these short, isolated clips and allowing people to overthink them has been a mistake. It’s just not presenting things well.

Great trailers succeed because of their quality, not because of drawn-out releases. They gain popularity by genuinely exciting fans with well-crafted content. Ironically, Spider-Man: Brand New Day was likely to be a hit regardless, given the strength of the Spider-Man franchise and the fact that superhero movie fatigue probably won’t affect it. Thankfully, this promotional event is temporary, and a real trailer will be released soon.
