Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Villain Confirmed for Another Marvel Show Before the MCU

Fans are eagerly awaiting the first trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and excitement is building as details about the movie are revealed. A major focus of discussion is the cast of characters, and it seems one of the film’s main villains will actually debut in a different Marvel TV show before appearing in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Artist Jorge Molina recently shared some fantastic illustrations of the Spider-Noir badge for Prime Video and CCXP, created to celebrate the show’s launch. These illustrations showcase important characters like Sandman and Electro. When asked about the first villain, Molina revealed it would be Tombstone. You can see a great look at Tombstone as depicted in Spider-Noir in the post below.

Tombstone Is Making His MCU Debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

The upcoming story, Brand New Day, will feature several major characters. While we’ve only heard rumors about some of them, others have been officially announced. Among those confirmed is Tombstone, and Marvin Jones III will be portraying him.

Tombstone is a well-known Spider-Man villain, though he doesn’t get as much attention as characters like Doctor Octopus or Venom. Despite this, he’s consistently appeared in Spider-Man stories over time. Recently, he’s had significant roles in both the movie Into the Spider-Verse and the Amazing Spider-Man comic book series, culminating in a major storyline called ‘Gang War’.

Tombstone is expected to appear in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Brand New Day, which is a natural fit for the movie’s direction. Brand New Day seems to be moving away from the more fantastical elements of past Marvel films and focusing on a more realistic, street-level story for Spider-Man. Villains like Tombstone, with his criminal underworld connections, fit perfectly into that kind of narrative. This approach could also open the door for other characters like the Punisher, who is also reportedly being considered for the film.

It appears 2026 will be a significant year for this Spider-Man villain, with the release of Spider-Noir on Prime Video on May 27th giving fans a chance to see his story unfold.
