Marvel and Sony are starting to reveal glimpses of their new Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie, but they’re doing it in an unusual way. Instead of a traditional trailer, short clips are appearing online, first shared by fans on Instagram and quickly spreading. This unique approach is fueling even more excitement and speculation, as viewers are carefully analyzing every single detail since the clips don’t follow a clear storyline.
While Peter Parker might be starting a “Brand New Day,” it’s shaping up to be a difficult one. The latest preview shows a worn-out Spider-Man collapsing, clearly showing the cost of being a hero. The question is, what happened to leave him in such bad shape?
Spider-Man Fans Are Convinced the Answer… is the Scorpion
Scorpion poison?

The upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will include several villains, with Michael Mando returning as Scorpion – a character not seen since Homecoming in 2017. In the comic books, Scorpion started as a detective hired by J. Jonah Jameson to uncover Spider-Man’s identity by investigating Peter Parker. Though he wasn’t successful—thanks to Spider-Man’s spider-sense—he became so fixated on the task that he agreed to a risky experiment, transforming him into the Scorpion.
Scorpion was specifically created to be Spider-Man’s ultimate enemy. He’s a powerful match for Peter Parker, but his most dangerous feature is a large, artificial tail. This tail has been outfitted with different weapons over time, most famously a venomous stinger. The tail is incredibly fast, often too quick for Spider-Man to avoid, making it a serious threat – especially if Peter isn’t prepared for it.
This is currently just a theory, but it’s clear Spider-Man will face many supervillains in Brand New Day, and these images show he’s going to suffer some serious injuries. The Scorpion seems like the most likely villain to have put Peter Parker in such a condition, and it definitely looks like he’s been poisoned. The bigger question is how Spider-Man will recover, especially since he seems to be facing this challenge alone, with no support system.
