Splitgate is returning to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 with a completely revamped experience and a new title!
Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, the free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter, is getting a fresh start and will be available again on December 17, 2025.
The trailer shows a bit of gameplay, then design director Josh Watson explains the changes made after Splitgate 2 returned to its beta phase.
Here’s a quick rundown of the major changes:
- Removal of factions and character-based abilities
- Overhauled progression and ranking systems
- Five brand new maps and six “fully-reworked” maps
- Four new weapons
- New modes
- Reduction in store prices and a simplified Battle Pass

Simply put, 1047 Games has significantly improved the game, using player feedback to make it much better.
The game had a rough start when it was first released in June, but this new version should give it a better chance to succeed.
