Do you remember Splitgate 2? This free multiplayer shooter launched last summer, but after receiving a lot of criticism, the creators, 1047 Games, decided to restart development as a beta version.
Well, after many months of work, it seems the game is almost ready to come back.
The studio announced that the beta test will end on December 4th, with a full launch planned for later in the month.
After the first version of Splitgate 2 was released and players shared their concerns, the developers made some major improvements during the game’s beta testing phase.
The game no longer features factions. Instead of faction-specific abilities, players will now find and use power-ups.
We’ve added more game modes without rounds, including King of the Hill, Domination, and Team Deathmatch. There’s also a Classic Arena designed to feel like the original Splitgate experience.
Based on feedback from beta testers, the team has consistently updated the game with new maps and weapons, improved menus, and overall system refinements.
We couldn’t have done any of this without your help! The last six months have been an amazing experience, and we’ve improved Splitgate into what it is today thanks to all your feedback, playtesting, and discussions. We’re incredibly proud of how far Splitgate has come, and it’s all because of your support.
Okay, so they haven’t given me an exact date yet, but it’s looking like the game might be back up and running before Christmas! Fingers crossed, it’s really exciting news.
