In October 2025, the much-anticipated third season of “Spy x Family” will air as part of the Fall 2025 anime schedule, based on Tatsuya Endo’s popular Shonen Jump+ manga. Fans can look forward to rejoining the Forger family in their daily struggles, as the story becomes even more thrilling from this point forward. The first season was split into two parts, containing a total of 25 episodes, while the second season consisted of just 12 episodes in one cour. As yet, the studio hasn’t announced whether the third season will follow the same pattern, but it will pick up where the WISE Arc left off in the second season, which was not fully resolved.
Last season concluded with a touching finale as I embarked on an undercover operation to infiltrate Born Industries – little did I know that Bond would be there! While Yor’s cooking had sent our dog scurrying, I thought Bond was out for vengeance against the organization that had subjected him to experiments. To my surprise, we made a formidable team. In the aftermath of the operation, I accomplished my mission smoothly due to my partner, and upon returning home, I cooked up a storm for the boy.
On July 22nd, 2025, a trailer was unveiled showcasing some key characters from our series, including the Forger family. As the video comes to an end, we are left stunned by a surprising glimpse of young Loid amidst wartime chaos.
Warning: This article contains spoilers from the Spy x Family manga!
Spy x Family Season 3 Will Finally Unveil Loid’s Tragic Past
In Episode 24 of Season 1, we catch a brief glimpse into Loid’s past as he recalls his mother singing him a lullaby. He shared this emotional moment with Yor, admitting that he can no longer recall his mother’s face, but cherishes the memories of being in her arms. Growing up amidst war, Loid was frequently aware of distant explosions, yet found comfort near his mother. From the start of the story, Loid is determined to fight fiercely because he wishes to prevent any child from experiencing a life similar to his own. The anime will soon unveil the reason behind this resolve.
In Season 3 of “Spy x Family,” we’ll delve into Loid’s poignant past, revealing his difficult upbringing during tumultuous times and the motivations that led him to champion peace between two nations. His backstory, though brief (as depicted in Chapter 62), is emotionally charged as it underscores the hardships he faced in his youth, his time as a soldier, and ultimately, his recruitment by WISE for undercover work.
In the trailer, Loid hints that he was unaware of the true cause of the war, a truth that adds complexity to his character as he’s compelled to engage in combat without understanding the reasons behind it or the rationale for hating the opposing side. His journey is portrayed as a tumultuous one marked by bloodshed, as he has lost everyone dear to him in his past, leaving him on a treacherous path.
