Square Enix, for the first time, has decided to invest in Brazil by supporting Nuuvem, the top digital game publisher in Latin America. This alliance kickstarts the launch of ‘spawnd’, an innovative platform developed specifically for browsers, aiming to overhaul the way gamers explore and test high-quality games.
Instant Play, Anywhere on the Web
As an enthusiastic gamer, I’d say Spawnd is a game-changer! It allows me, instantly, to play demo versions of games directly in my browser – no downloads or subscriptions needed. Whether it’s on store pages, media outlets, influencer channels, or even social posts, I can access these demos anywhere online. This means I can truly experience a game before buying it with just one click! It’s like having a sneak peek at the latest games without any hassle. Awesome, right?
For programmers and distributors, spawnd offers a smooth process for user discovery. Instead of demos being hidden within store platforms, one-click trials can now be sent directly to audiences. An all-in-one analytics dashboard provides insights into user habits and features a direct link to the Steam page, making it simpler to transform trial periods into sales.
Supported by Square Enix
Instead of cloud platforms that demand costly infrastructure and are prone to lag, Spawnd leverages sophisticated browser technology to deliver lag-free, uninterrupted gaming experiences. Square Enix’s investment underscores Spawnd as a scalable blueprint for global game discovery, starting in Latin America and eventually expanding globally.
As the passionate CEO and co-founder of spawnd, I’m thrilled to express that Square Enix’s investment in our company is a testament to the remarkable work we’re crafting. This strategic partnership serves as a bridge, connecting developers, publishers, and us with gamers worldwide, transforming game discovery into an immediate gaming experience.
Hideaki Uehara, from Square Enix Holdings’ Investment and Business Development department, stated that Latin America is a vital region due to its enthusiastic gaming community and deep ties to Japanese culture. He went on to say that the company’s initial investment in Brazil underscores their confidence in Nuuvem and spawnd’s ability to revolutionize game discovery.
Soft Launch with 12 Games
The platform known as spawnd has soft-launched, offering a selection of 12 playable demos such as The Posthumous Investigation, CyberWar, Ginsha, Ironhive, Valfaris, Figment, Cris Tales, CrossCode, SUPERHOT, Townscaper, Monster Sanctuary, and Doom 3. By the end of 2025, Nuuvem anticipates that their collection will surpass 100 games, a result of collaborations with more than 450 publishers and studios.
With over 45 million gaming enthusiasts connected every month throughout Latin America, Nuuvem is significantly expanding its influence by incorporating Spawnd as an additional platform.
