Square Enix, the company behind many popular Japanese games, is likely to release a highly-rated collection of three games – originally beloved on the PlayStation 2 – for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Interestingly, players who already have a Switch may be familiar with these games, as they were released on the original Switch four years ago. Previously, this collection was only available on Nintendo Switch until Square Enix expanded its availability to PC in 2024.
A new report suggests Kingdom Hearts Integrum is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. This claim is supported by information from two sources: Nash Weedle and Attack the Backlog, both well-known Nintendo insiders. Weedle even indicates the port is finished and ready for announcement, potentially at the rumored Nintendo Direct next month.
Some of the Most Popular Square Enix Games
Kingdom Hearts Integrum is a collection that includes all three main Kingdom Hearts games: Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, and Kingdom Hearts III. Essentially, it’s the complete story of Kingdom Hearts so far, as a fourth game is currently in development but hasn’t been released yet.
The new reports don’t say whether the game will be released as a cloud version, like it was on the Nintendo Switch. Since the Switch 2 is more powerful than the original Switch, a cloud-only release seems unlikely. Also, the game is already playable on the Switch 2 through backwards compatibility with the original Switch version, so releasing it again would only make sense if the cloud limitations were removed.
Keep in mind that these reports are unconfirmed. The information isn’t official, and even if it’s currently true, it could change. As of right now, Square Enix hasn’t made any statement about these reports, but we’ll update this article if they do.
