In a significant development, GSC Game World unveiled version 1.5 update for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which finally introduced the anticipated mod creation tools. These tools are now accessible via an in-game browser on both PC and Xbox consoles. Consequently, players on any platform can effortlessly download and engage with mods, enhancing their gaming experience.
As a dedicated fan, I’ve observed that the release of new mods for Stalker 2 seems to be taking its sweet time on the Xbox version of the game. Thankfully, GSC Game World is tirelessly working on a long-term solution to expedite the arrival of mods on console platforms, ensuring a faster and more frequent delivery than before.
Stalker 2 Xbox mods should arrive much faster
In a chat with fans on Discord, GSC Game World explained that the availability of mods on Xbox is taking longer “because of some technical issues and constraints”.
GSC Game World shared with fans that they are assessing their internal capabilities for testing, establishing procedures, and creating systems to incorporate more mods onto Xbox. They anticipate that some well-liked mods will become available on Xbox at a later time.
The studio indicated that they plan to rectify the problem in the near future without specifying any specific dates. Meanwhile, the team behind Stalker 2 is working diligently to automate processes, with the aim of making more mods available for Xbox users at an accelerated pace.
GSC acknowledged the current slowness, but emphasized that in order to release the Mod for Xbox, it needs our review and testing first. We’re working diligently to implement a permanent solution for smoother processes in the future.
It appears that some technical constraints with the Stalker 2 Zone Kit, the toolset used by players to craft their eerie masterpieces, are connected to its initial public release. In a message to fans, GSC Game World has stated they are actively working on improving the situation for future updates of the Zone Kit.
As well as developing strategies for the Q3 rollout of the game’s feature roadmap, GSC is concurrently creating new game expansions. Although a release date has not been announced yet, these expansions will bring unique and unprecedented views of the Zone that have never before been featured in the series.
