This beautiful survival game created by GSC Game World, titled Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, will be available on PlayStation 5 systems towards the end of this year, ending its earlier period of exclusive availability on Xbox consoles.
Stalker 2 PS5 version announced
Initially planned for release on Xbox Series and PC platforms, the significantly enhanced survival game will now make its way to the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro a year following its initial launch.
After the significant 1.5 update that introduced new weapons, modding capabilities, enhanced mutant loot, and an advanced AI environment, the game has never been better. With further updates planned, such as the extensive Q3 overhaul, Stalker 2 is consistently evolving for the better.
Information on the PS5 edition of this game, as well as its unique characteristics, remains scarce. Nevertheless, it’s been verified that the game will benefit from PS5 Pro Enhancement, potentially offering a more visually impressive experience compared to its Xbox Series X version.
In the PS5 edition, the game takes advantage of the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers to provide a more authentic tactile sensation, enhancing immersion as described by GSC Game World.
At this moment, there isn’t a set release date announced for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. Nonetheless, it is planned to debut around the end of 2025, approximately one year following its launch on Xbox.
Previously, Stalker 2 was marketed as an exclusive for Xbox, with GSC Game World stating they had “no intentions” for a PlayStation 5 release. Yet, given that first-party games like Gears of War and Forza Horizon have also moved to PlayStation, it’s not surprising if Stalker 2 follows suit.
