The highly anticipated video game, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, is set to launch for PlayStation 5 on November 20th, 2025, according to recent pre-order listings on the PS Store. Although developer GSC Game World has yet to officially confirm the new release date, fans can now pre-order the hardcore first-person shooter on Sony’s digital platform.
There are three different editions to choose from:
- Standard Edition (£49.99 / $59.99) — Base game only
- Deluxe Edition (£64.99 / $79.99) — Base game, Deluxe Weapons & Suit Pack, Side Quest, Artbook, Soundtrack
- Ultimate Edition (£94.99 / $109.99) — Base game, all contents of the Deluxe Edition, Season Pass

Heart of Chornobyl is a challenging first-person shooter survival game set in a dark sci-fi open world. You’ll need to gather equipment and resources, explore for mysteries, and face tough choices to stay alive as you navigate through the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
The physical edition of the game can be purchased as well, however, you’ll need to download it initially before playing. Right now, pre-orders for the boxed versions are being accepted globally.
Upon the release of the PS5 version, it includes all post-launch updates from the original Xbox and PC launches, along with an upcoming upgrade to the engine, which targets the implementation of Unreal Engine 5.5.4. This update aims at introducing innovative features and tools that will further enhance the Zone’s appeal, while primarily focusing on incorporating Unreal Engine 5 optimizations for improved stability and performance.
