Game developer and distributor GSC Game World has announced that their post-apocalyptic role-playing shooter game, Stalker 2, will be available on PlayStation 5 towards the end of this year.
The upcoming PS5 version of the game was revealed in an entertaining new video, starring a recognizable figure from Stalker 2. I won’t ruin the surprises, so feel free to watch it here if you’re interested.
As reported by GSC Game World, the PS5 version of Stalker 2 will take advantage of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to enhance player immersion. This should translate into realistic gun resistance when firing weapons and a variety of other engaging additional features.
Furthermore, it’s worth noting that the PS5 edition of “Stalker 2” will boast several upgrades tailored specifically for the PS5 Pro. This means you can now include this shooter among the games benefiting from additional features on the enhanced iteration of Sony’s gaming hardware.
Apart from some potential improvements or optimizations, it seems that the PlayStation 5 version of “Stalker 2” will essentially resemble the game you might already know. It appears there may not be any exclusive content added for the PS5 release, so if you choose not to get it on Sony’s platform, you won’t be missing out on additional content.
If you haven’t heard about it yet, Stalker 2 is the long-awaited follow-up to the 2007 game titled Stalker: Shadow of Chornobyl (excluding its prequel Clear Sky and standalone sequel Call of Pripyat, though the latter comes after Shadow of Chernobyl).
The story revolves around a fresh character named Skif, venturing into the Exclusion Zone in a quest to find means for rebuilding his devastated abode (initially, this is what we see; however, the game subsequently offers some intriguing twists that I won’t reveal).
The game titled Stalker 2 is currently playable on PC and Xbox Series X|S platforms. As per GSC Game World, it is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 5 in “the end of 2025”.
