Stalker 2 Update 1.7 Brings Brand New Difficulty Mode, A-Life Improvements, and More

GSC Game World has launched Update 1.7 for Stalker 2, nicknamed “Expedition.” This update introduces a new difficulty level and includes improvements and bug fixes for the game’s A-Life system, among other enhancements.

The newly added Master difficulty is extremely challenging. GSC Game World designed it for highly experienced players, and it features tougher gameplay and fewer opportunities to save your progress.

We’ve also added a new modifier for Expedition mode. This lets you experience challenging conditions on any difficulty, offering a tough experience without the full commitment of a Master run.

Even if you don’t feel like jumping into the Master or Expedition modes, this update still offers a lot of great improvements. We’ve continued to refine the A-Life system, which has seen significant changes since the game first came out last year.

A-Life is getting updates that let factions grow their territory, dynamically changing control of areas in Stalker 2. These factions will also actively defend the land they control from rivals.

Fighting in swamps should be a bit more manageable now. According to GSC Game World, enemies in Stalker 2 will struggle to spot you when you’re hidden in tall grass or reeds. Plus, their aim will be less precise when firing at you through these areas.

GSC Game World has been in the news recently due to a dispute over the survival game Misery. They initially filed a DMCA takedown request, but the issues seem to have been resolved, as Misery is now available on Steam again.
