In an optimal scenario, games might initially debut without requiring any updates whatsoever. However, I can’t help but feel a tinge of joy knowing that even in our current world, the original Stalker series is receiving updates once more.
To rectify a few more issues with the remasters of Shadow of Chornobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Prypiat, GSC has just released a 1.3 patch for the entire remastered trilogy.
After a two-month development period, version 1.3 delivers as promised: it includes bug fixes, adjustments, fewer glitches, and notably, both Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky now feature quick slots, similar to Call of Prypiat. Today marks an exceptional day in the Zone!
If you haven’t used Counter-Strike of late, these keys – F1, F2, F3, and F4 – are shortcuts that enable you to swiftly access items from your inventory without needing to open the entire equipment interface and manually sort through all your gear. Initially, they are configured for items such as medkits, bandages, or food, but you can customize them to hold whatever suits you best.
As a dedicated fan, I must admit that the absence of a small yet significant quality-of-life feature in the modern versions of Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky made revisiting these classics slightly more challenging. However, bringing this feature across the entire trilogy would undeniably enhance the gaming experience.
Moreover, I’m thrilled to learn that GSC is focusing on a major font overhaul to make the game text more familiar for veteran Stalkers. Additionally, increasing the font size for improved readability on Steam Deck is a thoughtful touch that will undoubtedly benefit players like me who prefer a clear and legible interface.
Additionally, you’ll find various bug fixes and similar adjustments detailed below. Notably, some fixes applied were sourced from the Stalker community, as evidenced by the updated credits section where their valuable input is duly recognized.
The changes made are primarily about scripts and configuration adjustments. However, should you find that the colors in your PDA headers are now correct, remember it’s all thanks to the dedicated efforts of our volunteers.
