Nana Visitor, famous for playing Kira Nerys on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, has reprised her role for a brief new story.
Scopely, the creators of Star Trek Fleet Command, have released a new animated short called Lost and Found. In it, the crew of the Realta teams up with Major Kira Nerys while she’s serving on the USS Defiant.
The crew is sent to investigate a missing Starfleet training ship near the Federation border. They soon find the ship isn’t abandoned, and come face-to-face with a familiar foe, including Major Kira.
Kira must come to terms with the tragic loss of the Adelphi’s crew and deliver the news to Captain Sisko before attempting to recover what’s left of the ship.
She shared a chilling premonition with the crew of the Realta, stating, “I have a bad feeling this is just the start of something awful,” ending the scene on a deeply unsettling note.

This isn’t the first time the show has brought back familiar faces from Star Trek. Previous episodes have included appearances by LeVar Burton, reprising his role as Geordi La Forge, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, and Jeffrey Combs as Weyoun.
TrekMovie reports that the Scopely has previously described these shorts as “canon-adjacent”.

Nana Visitor first became known for her role as Kira Nerys, a Bajoran military officer, on Deep Space Nine, which she played from 1993 to 1999. She reprised the character years later by providing the voice for an animated appearance in the series Lower Decks.
I recently chatted with Nana Visitor about her iconic role as Kira Nerys on Deep Space Nine, and she put it beautifully. She described those seven seasons as feeling like ‘dog years’ – meaning each year on the show felt like seven! That adds up to her essentially being Kira for nearly half a century. It’s amazing how deeply that character has become a part of who she is.
Playing this character truly changed me for the better. It forced me to embrace imperfections – both hers and my own – and really look at myself. She had a positive impact on my life, so it’s a happy experience to now portray her.
