Star Wars: Andor's Diego Luna Says Season 2 Will Change How You Watch Rogue One

As a long-time Star Wars enthusiast with countless hours spent in the galaxy far, far away, I must say that Diego Luna‘s comments about Star Wars: Andor Season 2 have me buzzing like a Tie Fighter on hyperdrive! The prospect of revisiting Rogue One: A Star Wars Story after witnessing Cassian Andor’s journey in the upcoming season is tantalizing, to say the least.

Andor” has given fans of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” more time with Diego Luna’s character Cassian Andor, revealing the difficult events he experienced that help explain his perspective. However, the actor himself suggests that Season 2 of “Andor” will make viewers see “Rogue One” differently. Since the first season of “Andor” has already provided unique insights into Cassian and changed our perception of him, the actor’s comments hint that there might be more aspects of “Rogue One” that we’ll appreciate in a new way when we rewatch it. The second season of “Star Wars: Andor” is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2025.

Luna commented to Entertainment Weekly that viewers who have seen Season 2 might perceive Rogue One differently. Knowing the backstory of Alan Tudyk’s character, K-2SO, will change how things are interpreted. This new perspective should make the journey of Rogue One feel fresh and unique, not just for K-2SO, but also for many other characters. Luna thinks it’ll be quite fascinating.

In the beginning of “Rogue One”, it appears that Cassian is prepared to put anyone or anything at risk for the Rebellion’s cause, including Jyn Erso’s father, even though Galen Erso resists working for the Galactic Empire. By the end of the movie, we get a glimpse of his heroic nature while also seeing his readiness to give up his own life in order to liberate the galaxy.

A significant aspect of the movie “Rogue One” was the bond between the character Cassian and K-2SO, who has been officially announced as making a return in Season 2.

Luna agreed that working with Alan once more was a delight, and being on set together completed the loop.

I’ll fill you in on what makes K-2 such a crucial figure in ‘Rogue One’… and why he holds such significance within the Rebellion.

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t hide my excitement when I say that it’s not just Alan Tudyk who’s making a comeback for the second season of this epic saga, but none other than Ben Mendelsohn as Director Orson Krennic! This news has me ready to hit the “play” button again.

With the possibility that the new season could provide a fresh perspective on Rogue One, Luna is already eagerly looking forward to its return to theaters. He playfully hints, “I’m pretty sure someone from Lucasfilm and Disney will grant us the chance to catch Season 2 followed immediately by watching the film on a large screen, surrounded by heaps of popcorn and friends.”

Star Wars: Andor Season 2 is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2025.
