Star Wars Fans Think They’ve Spotted A Major Movie Reveal

After a seven-year wait, The Mandalorian and Grogu will finally be shown in cinemas in May, bringing the Star Wars story back to the big screen. Director Jon Favreau hinted at more plot details coming soon during a presentation of new Star Wars toys at the New York Toy Fair. Fans think they may have already found a clue on the cover of an upcoming book, The Art of The Mandalorian and Grogu, which will be released on November 3rd. The cover features Din Djarin and Grogu set against a dark and intriguing background.

Star Wars fans quickly figured out this background scene depicts Nal Hutta, the home planet of the Hutts. The details strongly suggest it’s Bilbousa, the planet’s capital city.

It wasn’t entirely unexpected to see Din Djarin facing danger on a Hutt world, as the initial trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu featured him fighting in a Hutt arena and trying to crack a Hutt vault. However, it is surprising to see a character actually travel to Nal Hutta itself. Located in the Outer Rim, Nal Hutta has few spaceports because most trade happens on Nar Shaddaa, a nearby moon known for smuggling.

Why Is Din Djarin Going to Nal Hutta?

Din Djarin venturing into Hutt space, maybe even to a place like the Smuggler’s Moon, isn’t entirely unexpected. However, the possibility that he’s going all the way to Nal Hutta is a big surprise. It implies that The Mandalorian and Grogu will be heading into the most dangerous and criminal part of the galaxy – a place as notorious as Coruscant. Most fans will remember Nal Hutta from a few Clone Wars stories, as it’s never actually been shown on screen in live-action before.

This new development creates a lot of mystery around the story of The Mandalorian and Grogu. Din Djarin’s main goal was to track down what’s left of the Empire, but he seems to be getting pulled into a criminal underworld instead. The show may be hinting at a connection between the powerful Imperial Shadow Council and pirates who control the Hydian Way, as suggested in Season 3. This could mean there’s a larger, more complex plot unfolding, with the Empire and the Hutts secretly working together.

The Hutt crime syndicates flourished during the chaotic period of the Empire, but their success was cut short leading up to the events of Return of the Jedi. A significant number of Hutt leaders were killed, which Jabba the Hutt exploited to make his clan the most powerful. However, Jabba died only months later. It’s likely that his heirs, the Hutt twins seen in The Book of Boba Fett and promotional material, are now trying to regain the Hutts’ former influence by aligning themselves with the Empire.
