Casey Hudson, the director of the upcoming Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, has announced the game will be released before the year 2030.
After the new RPG was shown at The Game Awards this week, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier tweeted that it’s likely a long way off. He pointed out that the game’s developer, Arcanaut Studios, was only recently established. Schreier clarified he wasn’t sharing confidential information, but suggested 2030 would be a hopeful release year.
Casey Hudson, CEO and director of Arcanaut Studios, has dismissed claims that the game won’t be released until 2030. In a social media update, he assured fans not to worry about those rumors, stating the game will be out much sooner. He jokingly added that he doesn’t have that much time left!

The upcoming game, Fate of the Old Republic, aims to capture the magic of the original Knights of the Old Republic RPGs. It’s being led by Casey Hudson, the director known for both those classic games and the Mass Effect series. Players can expect a story-focused, single-player RPG with compelling characters and exciting action.
Hudson mentioned the project is still in its early stages, but he’s excited to share updates as development progresses. While it’s still a ways off, he doesn’t expect it to be released as late as 2030.
