We might not have to wait much longer to hear about Star Wars Jedi 3, the next game in Respawn Entertainment’s successful action-adventure series. After the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in 2023, Respawn and Electronic Arts announced another game was in development. While details have been scarce, it seems an announcement could be coming soon.
The hosts of this week’s Insider Gaming podcast think we might see Star Wars Jedi 3 revealed soon, possibly at Summer Game Fest, PlayStation’s State of Play event, or the Xbox Games Showcase. Considering the four-year gap between Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a similar timeline would suggest the third game could arrive in 2027 if development follows a similar pattern. While there’s no confirmation yet, the timing makes sense.
According to gaming insider and co-host Tom Henderson, the next Star Wars Jedi game will likely feature an older Cal Kestis. While there was a time skip between the first two games, Henderson suggests this next gap will be much larger. This could mean we’ll see Kestis as a character in his 30s or 40s, potentially with the story taking place after the events of Return of the Jedi.
The reason we haven’t heard much about Star Wars Jedi 3 yet is likely because there are several other Star Wars games already in the works. Besides Star Wars: Galactic Racer coming out later this year, Respawn Entertainment is also busy co-developing the strategy game Star Wars: Zero Company. They might want to focus on releasing Zero Company before sharing more details about the next Jedi game.
Beyond the Star Wars games already discussed, several more are currently being developed. Saber Interactive is still working on a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and a brand-new game, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, was revealed at the end of 2025. Additionally, Quantic Dream is continuing development on Star Wars Eclipse, though recent reports indicate the project may be facing internal challenges.
