So, I was reading an article by Stephen Totilo over at Game File, and it dropped some interesting news about Knights of the Old Republic 2 on the Switch. Apparently, there was some cut content they were planning as DLC, which is cool. But the really big news? It sounds like they’re actually planning a full-on remake of the sequel for current consoles and PC! That’s what I’ve been waiting for!
Interestingly, it appears that Mad Head Games, the studio behind Scars Above, is the developer currently working on the Knights of the Old Republic – Remake. They’re reportedly working either directly for or in collaboration with Saber Interactive, though Saber Interactive hasn’t confirmed this arrangement yet.
Mad Head Games’ website hints at a major, unannounced game based on a well-known and popular franchise that fans are likely to be excited about. The studio describes it as their largest project to date, predicting it will create a lot of buzz.
That description could fit many different projects. But considering Jason Schreier’s reporting and the ongoing collaboration with Saber Interactive on a separate game, it’s likely this is the remake we’ve been hearing about.
We might not have to wait much longer to hear some news. A reliable insider, Kurakasis, has hinted at a major Star Wars announcement coming soon, and later suggested the title will include “The Old Republic.” Considering the project’s potential and the popularity of Star Wars, an update on Knights of the Old Republic – Remake seems likely.
