Saber Interactive confirms that the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is still being worked on by their team.
In a recent interview with IGN, Tim Willits, the chief creative officer, confirmed the game is still being developed, but didn’t offer any further details.
It’s been five years since the remake was first announced, and we’ve seen more statements from company leaders assuring everyone it’s still in development than actual gameplay footage. Aside from a brief first look in 2021, the game hasn’t been publicly demonstrated at all.
Fans eagerly awaiting the remake also have another Star Wars RPG to look forward to: Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. Announced at The Game Awards last year, this new game is a spiritual successor to the original RPGs and is being directed by Casey Hudson, who also led the previous titles.
Arcanut Studios, led by veteran game director Casey Hudson – known for his work on the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect series – is creating a large-scale interactive story set in a galaxy undergoing a dramatic transformation. Your choices will significantly impact your journey and determine whether you follow a path of light or darkness.
