A new photo from the set of the upcoming Star Wars movie, starring Ryan Gosling, has been released. Currently titled *Starfighter*, the action sci-fi film is expected to hit theaters on May 28, 2027.
Who is in the Star Wars: Starfighter set photo?
Director Shawn Levy shared a new behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the upcoming Star Wars movie on Instagram. The photo gives fans a clearer view of Ryan Gosling as the main character, alongside his young co-star, Flynn Gray, who has been in shows like *Borderline*, *Wednesday*, and *Showkids*. This film is Gray’s first major studio movie role. The picture shows Gosling and Gray filming a scene at sea, hinting at one of the movie’s locations, and offers a better look at what their characters will be wearing than the first released photo.
Shawn Levy is directing and producing the film, based on a script by Jonathan Tropper. The cast includes Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Amy Adams, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, and Daniel Ings. The story is set five years after the events of ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ and, according to the studio, will be a completely fresh adventure with new characters in a previously unseen era.
Gosling praised the script as exceptionally well-written, highlighting its compelling story and unique characters. Speaking at the Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, he described it as full of heart and adventure, and stated that Shawn is the ideal director to bring this story to life.
