Starfield Improvements Were Showcased in a Closed-Door Event for Version 2.0 – Rumour

Bethesda’s Starfield, their first new game world since The Elder Scrolls, didn’t initially make a big splash when it launched. However, over two years later, the company seems ready to give it another push. Recent reports suggest Bethesda held a private event showcasing a significant update, dubbed Starfield “2.0.” The news originated from a Starfield fan account, Starfield News, which indicated this major update is coming “soon.”

A social media user named JuiceHead says they went to a preview event for an updated version of Starfield, and Bethesda showed attendees what they have planned for the game’s future. JuiceHead also mentioned that everyone at the event may have signed different non-disclosure agreements, but that what they shared online wasn’t covered by those agreements.

YouTube creator Luke Stephens backed up the details of the showcase, sharing what he learned online. He confirmed the event took place and said attendees generally felt that players should manage their expectations for the Starfield 2.0 update. It won’t be as big of an overhaul as the 2.0 update was for Cyberpunk 2077.

People who were at the event or involved in organizing it have contacted me, and they all agree on one thing: don’t expect a massive overhaul. While improvements are being made, it won’t be as big of an update as something like Cyberpunk 2.0, according to what I’m hearing,” Stephens said.

Bethesda is working on several improvements to address common player complaints, such as long loading times (details have already been discovered in the game’s files). However, these changes won’t fundamentally alter the core experience of the game.

He also pointed out that Bethesda appears to have delayed the release of the next Starfield downloadable content. However, he acknowledged that improvements are positive and praised their effort to enhance the game. He added that they’ll need to evaluate the update itself when it’s released, given their history of updates sometimes causing new problems.

In September, Bethesda marked the two-year anniversary of Starfield with a hint about upcoming content. They shared a short video on Instagram that celebrated the anniversary, and subtly included the phrase “Terran Armada,” suggesting it will be part of future updates.

Tim Lamb, the lead creative producer, first confirmed the development of this downloadable content (DLC) back in August. He didn’t share many specifics then, but mentioned it would include new gameplay features and a few additional surprises.
