After a long wait, Starfield is launching on PS5, and it will take advantage of the upgraded PlayStation 5 Pro. The PlayStation Blog revealed that the game will offer two graphics modes on the console: a Visual mode for higher resolution at 4K and 30 frames per second, and a Performance mode with enhanced visuals and smoother gameplay at 60 frames per second.
The game will fully support the DualSense controller, offering unique feedback like varying resistance on the triggers for different weapons. Sound effects, such as audio logs and ship communications, will play directly through the controller’s speaker. Players can easily switch between first and third-person perspectives using the touchpad, which also provides quick access to the map and scanner.
Currently, we don’t know how well Starfield will run on a standard PlayStation 5. The Xbox Series X version initially ran at 30 frames per second, but updates improved it to 40, 60, and even an unlimited frame rate. It’s likely the PS5 version will offer similar improvements, but we’re waiting for official details.
I’m so excited! Starfield is finally coming to PS5 on April 7th, and it’s launching with a big free update called Free Lanes! They’re also releasing a paid expansion, Terran Armada, for everyone. The standard game costs $49.99, but if you want the Premium Edition for $69.99, you get Terran Armada plus Shattered Space, 1000 Creation Credits, a digital art book, and the soundtrack. You can find all the details about everything new here!
