I’m so excited! It’s been confirmed that Starsand Island, the anime farming sim I’ve been following, is coming to the Switch 2! Seed Lab said it’ll launch alongside the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC versions in early 2026. Can’t wait to finally play!
Starsand Island on the new Switch will be optimized for the console’s capabilities. Players can choose between two modes: “Quality Mode” for a smooth visual experience at 45 frames per second with 1080p resolution, and “Performance Mode” for faster gameplay at 60 frames per second, also in 1080p. Both modes are available whether the Switch is docked or used handheld. The game will also include features like in-game voice chat during online play and support for mouse controls.
Seed Lab’s creative director, Richardo Wang, announced that bringing Starsand Island to the next Nintendo console has been a key goal for the team. Wang explained that the life-sim genre fits well with Nintendo’s systems, and they envisioned the game being available on the new platform even before its initial announcement last year. Starsand Island offers players a relaxing, countryside experience, and the team wants to make it accessible for play at home, during commutes, or whenever players need a break.
