I’ve been loving my Steam Deck – it’s seriously changed the game for me as a PC gamer, especially with all the Steam sales! But it can be frustrating when a new game doesn’t automatically work with it. I was really excited about Where Winds Meet, a big RPG coming out next year, and was bummed it wasn’t supported at launch. Luckily, the folks at Everstone Studio heard us fans and announced they’re now working on making it compatible with the Deck, which is awesome!
The new free-to-play game, Where Winds Meet, quickly became popular on Steam after its release last week. It’s already attracted over 250,000 players and has received very positive reviews. While the game is a hit, it doesn’t currently work with the Steam Deck, which could potentially attract even more players if added.
Everstone Studio recently shared an update on Steam outlining recent and upcoming changes to their game. A key announcement is that they’re working on making the game compatible with the Steam Deck, with plans to release this support within the next two months. They haven’t given a specific date just yet.
In addition to Steam Deck compatibility, fans of Where Winds Meet can look forward to improvements like a better world clock for different time zones, more ways to customize character outfits, support for the PS5 Pro’s advanced features, and enhanced sound. The developers are also working on improving support for multiple languages, adding more PS5 features, and letting players create multiple characters.
Over the next few months, Everstone Studio will focus on improving Where Winds Meet while also paying close attention to what players want. It’s crucial they do this because the game is designed like a single-player MMO, meaning they need to keep players engaged with new content. First, however, they need to fix the existing technical problems. Once those are resolved, they’ll likely release more content and explore ways to generate revenue from their large player base.
