In 2025, no TV show generated more buzz than Adolescence. It was a massive hit with viewers and has seemingly won every award imaginable.
The popular four-part series continued its award success at Sunday night’s Golden Globes, with Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Owen Cooper all winning awards for their acting.
Following his victory, Graham was asked the question everyone’s been wondering since the show began: will there be a sequel or continuation?
Graham explained to Deadline that the answer to that question is something he and Jack Thorne, the show’s co-creator, are keeping under wraps for now. They plan to reveal it in three to four years, so fans will have to wait.

Given this, it seems fans have a wait on their hands.
We don’t yet know what a continuation of ‘Adolescence’ might look like, but recent statements from Graham support a report from Deadline last year. That report indicated Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment was talking with director Philip Barantini about possibly making a second season.
It appears fans shouldn’t anticipate a direct continuation of the show, as creator Julian Fellowes stated last year on ITV’s This Morning that “Jamie’s story is finished.”
He explained that they’ve likely reached the natural conclusion of Jamie’s story, meaning a second series of the show isn’t planned. While they’re open to creating more standalone stories in a similar style, they don’t believe another season focused on ‘Adolescence’ is the right direction.

Hannah Walters, who is also an executive producer and Graham’s wife, recently told Variety that the show’s unique single-take filming style still has a lot of potential, and that focusing on realistic human stories is a worthwhile direction for the future.
During his Golden Globes acceptance speech, Graham praised Barbara Walters as one of the greatest producers of all time, and credited her with saving his life.
You can now watch ‘Adolescence’ on Netflix, with subscriptions starting at just £5.99 per month. Netflix is also accessible through Sky Glass and Virgin Media.
