The supernatural horror film, Together, has reached the top spot on streaming charts in the United States, following high praise from Stephen King. It first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025, and after generating a lot of buzz, several studios competed to distribute it. Neon eventually released it in theaters the following July.
I can’t believe it, but “Together” is officially number one on Hulu’s Top 10 list today, January 7th! According to FlixPatrol, it’s beating out everything else right now – even shows like “20/20” and “The Kardashians”, plus movies like “Superbad” and the new “Percy Jackson” series. Seriously, it’s ahead of all of them! I’m so glad it’s getting the recognition it deserves.
In his first feature film, director Michael Shanks tells the story of a couple who relocate to the countryside and find their lives, relationship, and even their bodies threatened by a strange and unsettling supernatural presence in
Dave Franco and his wife, Alison Brie, star in the movie, with supporting roles played by Damon Herriman, Mia Morrissey, Jack Kenny, Aljin Abella, Sarah Lang, Tom Considine, and Melanie Beddie.
The film Together was highly praised by critics, earning a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Reviewers described it as a disturbing yet emotionally powerful horror film, and noted the clever casting of Alison Brie and Dave Franco, who both gave standout performances.
Viewers really liked the movie Together, giving it a 76% audience score. They praised its unique mix of oddness and suspense, and especially appreciated the strong connection between the lead actors, which created a special and original feel.
As a huge fan of both Stephen King and clever filmmaking, I was really interested to see what he thought of Together. He shared on Threads that Dave Franco and Alison Brie are fantastic – and really took a risk with this one! He nailed why it works too, saying horror is at its best when you genuinely connect with the characters, and Together definitely delivers on that front.

After premiering at Sundance, Together was acquired by Neon for about $17 million – its approximate budget. The film went on to perform well at the box office, earning $34.5 million worldwide, making it a profitable venture.
The horror movie Together received widespread acclaim last year, even making ScreenRant‘s list of the top 10 horror films of 2025. Alex Papaioannou from InSession Film went so far as to call it “the best horror movie of the year,” a quote featured prominently on the film’s promotional materials.
