As a sci-fi fan, I’m telling you, it’s a great time to be alive! We’re seeing a real resurgence of the genre, both in theaters and on streaming. Everyone’s buzzing about Ryan Gosling’s Project Hail Mary, and honestly, I’m completely hooked on Sterling K. Brown’s new show – it’s a post-apocalyptic political thriller that’s absolutely killing it on Hulu here in the States and Disney+ everywhere else.
According to FlixPatrol, Paradise is currently the most popular TV show on Hulu in the U.S. The show is in its second season and continues to attract a large audience. It’s also a hit internationally, ranking among the top 10 most-watched shows on Disney+ in Argentina, Canada, Finland, and Spain.
Currently, Paradise is the second most popular show on Disney+ globally. The series features Sterling K. Brown as Xavier Collins, a Secret Service agent. The cast also includes Julianne Nicholson, known from Mare of Easttown; Sarah Shahi, from The L Word; Nicole Brydon Bloom, who appeared in The Gilded Age; and James Marsden, famous for his role in Sonic the Hedgehog, among others.
What Is Paradise About?
Three years after a catastrophic event forced humanity to live in a mountain bunker, Secret Service agent Collins is responsible for the President’s protection. But life inside the bunker gets even more challenging when Collins discovers the President has died.
The show centers on Collins as he tries to solve the President’s murder, but he quickly becomes a suspect. Meanwhile, Paradise reveals the past through flashbacks, showing what life was like before the characters went into hiding and detailing how they all achieved their positions, including the events that caused the end of the world.
The show Paradise first aired on January 26, 2025, and quickly gained positive reviews. Season 2 premiered on February 23, 2026, and, like the first season, will have eight episodes. Episode 7, titled “The Final Countdown,” is set to air on March 23rd, and the season will conclude with the finale, “Exodus,” on March 30th.
Paradise Received Positive Reviews from Critics and Viewers
The show Paradise has been well-received. Its first season earned an 86% rating from critics and an 84% rating from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, earning it a ‘Certified Fresh’ designation. Currently, critics give the show a 90% rating, though audiences score it slightly lower at 79%.
Season 2 of Paradise received positive reviews. Amon Warmann of Empire Magazine gave it 4 out of 5 stars, praising its engaging story and clever plot, both inside and outside the bunker setting. Peter Travers from The Travers Take found the season highly binge-worthy, though not brilliant. The show currently has a 7.9 rating on IMDb.
Even though the first season has finished, the second season of this popular sci-fi show could attract an even larger audience on Hulu. Plus, with Season 3 on the way, many new fans may start watching Paradise, which will help keep the show successful and continue to build interest in science fiction and stories about the future after a disaster.
Paradise is available to stream on Hulu in the United States and worldwide on Disney+.
