Steven Knight hints at House of Guinness renewal as he reflects on “fantastic” response

The Netflix historical drama, House of Guinness, was a big hit when it first came out earlier this year, and viewers have been eager for updates about a second season ever since – particularly because the first season ended with a major cliffhanger.

In a recent interview for our series, The TopMob Writers’ Room, where we explore the minds of screenwriters, creator Steven Knight described the fan reaction to the show as “fantastic.”

Knight abruptly ended the conversation, and was then asked if there were any news about whether the show would return for a second season.

I was starting to say something, but I’ve decided not to continue,” Knight stated. “I’m unable to discuss that topic.

Knight’s inability to discuss the show’s future suggests a new season is likely being planned, and an announcement could come soon.

Featuring Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, Emily Fairn, Fionn O’Shea, James Norton, Niamh McCormack, Danielle Galligan, and Jack Gleeson, ‘House of Guinness’ is a fictionalized account of the famous Guinness family and their lives in 1800s Dublin.

This is one of several historical dramas created by Steven Knight, the writer also known for popular shows like Peaky Blinders, SAS Rogue Heroes, Taboo, and A Thousand Blows. He talked about all of these projects, and more, during his appearance on The TopMob Writers’ Room.

He’s currently working on the screenplay for the next James Bond movie, which Denis Villeneuve will direct. The story and the actor who will play Bond are still being kept secret.

Knight recently shared his excitement about writing for James Bond, saying it’s a dream come true. He’s eager to begin and hopes his lifelong love for the character will result in a story that feels both familiar and fresh, with more impact and energy.

I’m so excited! Steven Knight’s full interview for The TopMob Writers’ Room is dropping on Friday, January 9th. I can’t wait to hear what he has to say!
