Steven Spielberg is yelling “cut” on Timothée Chalamet’s recent comments.

Following comments where the star of Marty Supreme claimed people aren’t interested in ballet or opera, the director of Jurassic Park is now speaking out about the statement, which caused controversy.

During a conversation at SXSW on March 13th, Steven explained what makes movie theaters special. According to Variety, he said the true magic happens when people from all walks of life come together in a shared, darkened space. He believes a great movie creates a collective emotional experience that stays with everyone long after they leave, and that feeling is unique and powerful.

You see it in films and at concerts,” the 79-year-old explained. “It also happens at ballet and opera, for that matter.”

As the audience applauded, Steven added, “We hope this continues, and lasts indefinitely.”

He made these statements following a February interview with Matthew McConaughey, where Timothée, age 30, discussed different types of art.

The actor from Little Women expressed admiration for those who publicly advocate for keeping movie theaters open. During a discussion with Variety and CNN, they said they wouldn’t want to be in a situation like ballet or opera, where there’s pressure to support an art form even if it’s lost its audience. They quickly added that they have full respect for people who work in those fields.

Steven isn’t the only celebrity to address comments made by the actor from Beautiful Boy. Recently, Misty Copeland – a groundbreaking principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre as the first Black woman to hold the position – also shared her perspective.

Misty shared that she was excited to help promote Marty Supreme, connecting it to her work as an artist. Speaking at an event for Aveeno in New York City on March 10th, she explained that while her art form might not be mainstream like movies, it still holds cultural significance and lasting value.

Recently, the movie’s social media highlighted her, sharing a current photo of her wearing a Marty Supreme jacket alongside a childhood dance photo. She pointed out that opera and ballet have endured for over four centuries for a good reason. She believes that having the chance to experience these art forms can be transformative, and she’s dedicated her career to making them accessible to more people. Her goal is to help everyone recognize how valuable and meaningful opera and ballet are to our communities and culture.

Sometimes you just have to laugh!

Okay, so you will NOT believe this! I’m completely obsessed with Hoda and Jenna, and I just read the most hilarious thing. Finch, who stepped down from his role on the ABC medical drama after being temporarily suspended, admitted, “I messed up badly. It was completely unacceptable, and I take full responsibility.”

Beauty is pain, but Kim Kardashian might be able to stomach it.

The reality star told The New York Times she’d consider almost any procedure to look younger, joking that she was open to trying everything.

She admitted in June that she’d even consider something extreme – like eating something disgusting daily – if it meant she could look younger. She emphasized she was serious, saying, ‘I just might.’

In a July 2022 interview with Allure, Kim admitted she was mostly joking when she made the comment, but she didn’t think it was a bad idea.

Kim continued, saying she’d likely do almost anything for youth, even something disgusting. ‘If someone told me eating a bowl of poop daily would make me look younger, I’d probably do it,’ she admitted.

When asked if she could eat any, she said, “Perhaps just a small bite.” She added that a full bowl would be too much for her.

Jelly Roll could’ve used some saving from himself.

During an April 2025 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer behind “Save Me” shared a particularly embarrassing story, and he didn’t hesitate to tell all the details.

“I pooped myself one time,” he admitted. “I did, I’m sorry.”

To be honest, Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) didn’t intend to cause such serious harm.

He firmly believed it was just a misunderstanding. “I sincerely apologize,” he said. “I saw the audience turn from supportive to completely against me.”
