Steven Spielberg’s Underrated Sci-Fi Series Is Finally Returning to Streaming (And Fans Will Have Five Entire Seasons to Binge)

I’ve been a sci-fi fan for ages, and it’s amazing how many great shows we’re getting now with streaming! But I remember a time when cable was the thing, and sci-fi didn’t get as much love on TV. Back in 2011, there was this really cool alien invasion show on TNT that, for some reason, a lot of people missed – even though Steven Spielberg was involved! I’m so excited it’s finally coming to Netflix, because I think it deserves a much bigger audience and I can’t wait for more people to discover it.

The show Falling Skies first aired on TNT in 2011 and was a ratings success for the network over its five seasons. While it hasn’t been available on major streaming platforms recently, that’s about to change. All episodes will be available on Netflix starting January 1st.

Featuring Noah Wyle from The West Wing, Falling Skies tells the story of humanity’s fight against a frightening alien attack. The series centers on a history professor (Wyle) who becomes a key leader in a Massachusetts-based resistance group. It begins six months after the invasion, which wiped out around 90% of the world’s population.

Falling Skies is a science fiction show that, like many classic sci-fi stories, really explores what it means to be human when facing incredible challenges. Over its five seasons, the series is a moving experience, and it also boasts some of the most impressive alien creatures you’ll find on television.

If you enjoy science fiction, be sure to check out Falling Skies when it becomes available on Netflix in a few weeks. It’s a show you won’t want to miss!

With popular shows like Supernatural and Lost leaving Netflix in January, Falling Skies is coming to the platform and should be a great replacement. Besides that, a lot of new movies will also be added throughout the month.

Netflix is getting a lot of new movies on January 1st, including popular choices like Dune, Despicable Me, Pitch Perfect, and Hellboy.
