Earlier this year, Stranger Things concluded its main story, but fans have something to look forward to! Netflix is creating a new spinoff series, and they’ve just announced that an actor who appeared in the original Stranger Things will be joining the cast in a different role. A first look at the new show’s trailer has also been released.
The world of Stranger Things is growing! The first spinoff series, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, has released a new trailer offering a first look at new monsters and characters. A particularly exciting reveal is that Robert Englund, known for his role as Victor Creel in season 4, will be voicing a new character named Cosmo. While details about Cosmo are currently unknown, Englund’s involvement suggests this character will be a memorable one.
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Will Provide A Rare Chance To Do Something New In The Past

The upcoming animated series, Tales From ’85, is a prequel set between the second and third seasons of the original show. This allows fans to see familiar characters again, exploring a period of their history that hasn’t been shown before. However, because the gate to the Upside Down was closed at the end of season 2, the creators had to find new ways to build suspense. Based on the trailer, it looks like they’ve successfully done that.
Eric Robles, the showrunner, explained to Tudum that the series captures the excitement of childhood adventures while also presenting genuine danger and consequences. He emphasized the unique opportunity to revisit the characters’ younger years and spend time with them as kids.
The new series, Tales From ’85, features a variety of mutated creatures and monsters for the crew to confront. It also introduces Nikki Baxter, a strong new character who appears to be crucial in the fight against these creatures, and the trailer showcases her impressive lab filled with gadgets and weapons.
The trailer features lots of familiar faces from the original series, including Eleven (Brooklyn Davey Norstedt), Mike (Luca Diaz), Dustin (Braxton Quinney), Max (Jolie Hoang-Rappaport), Lucas (Elisha “EJ” Williams), Will (Benjamin Plessala), Nikki (Odessa A’zion), and Hopper (Brett Gipson), which fans will be excited to see. Additionally, Robert Englund will be the voice of Cosmo, while Alysia Reiner, Alessandra Antonelli, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips will voice Karen Wheeler, Nancy Wheeler, Anna Baxter, and Daniel Fischer, respectively.
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 will premiere on Netflix on April 23, 2026.
