Stranger Things concluded its five-season run on Wednesday. The final season of the hit Netflix series was highly anticipated, but the response from fans has been complicated. Even after watching the last episode, “Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up,” opinions remain divided.
The ending of Stranger Things has sparked a lot of debate among fans. Some felt the finale saved a somewhat disappointing season, delivering a satisfying conclusion, while others weren’t completely impressed. Regardless of how people felt about the overall season, most viewers agreed that the music in the final episodes was excellent.
Some Stranger Things Fans Felt Like the Ending Was the Big Event They’d Been Waiting For
Many fans online were really happy with how the finale turned out, feeling it lived up to expectations. Their favorite characters survived, and the story wrapped up satisfyingly. Some viewers felt the finale was epic and compared it to a big event movie like Avengers: Endgame.
Okay, so I just finished Stranger Things 5, and honestly, the finale felt way more like an Avengers-style showdown than a typical Stranger Things episode. It was all big action, and surprisingly, hardly anyone actually died! It felt a little rushed, but I think they did a good job wrapping up most of the characters’ stories. I’d give it a 6 out of 10 overall. #StrangersThings5 #StrangerThings

Stranger Things 5 was a fantastic conclusion to the series! The story was beautifully told and really emotional, providing a satisfying ending for both the characters and the overall narrative. It’s left me excited to see ‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow’ – hopefully when I can find the time and resources to go see it.

I just finished watching the finale of Stranger Things 5 (coming in 2025), and it really turned the season around for me. I thought it wrapped everything up perfectly and would give it a 10/10 – it was fantastic!

Others Felt Like The Whole Thing Was A Let Down

The series finale sparked a lot of debate among fans. Some loved it, while others strongly disliked it. A few viewers thought it was a terrible ending, even ranking it among the worst TV finales ever made, and some even compared it unfavorably to the controversial finale of Game of Thrones. While most didn’t go that far, many weren’t particularly impressed.
Stranger Things 5 had one of the weakest series finales I have ever seen in my life
worse than GOT

Yeah I absolutely did not like stranger things 5 ending

Honestly, I wasn’t impressed with the Stranger Things finale. It was two hours long, but very little actually happened. Even the supposedly emotional moments, like Eleven’s death, fell flat because the acting was just really poor. The actors weren’t able to convey the necessary emotions, and it didn’t evoke any feeling in me.

Everyone Agrees On The Music

Although opinions on the finale were divided, fans overwhelmingly loved the music. The episode included fantastic song choices, notably featuring two songs by Prince. Other artists included Fleetwood Mac and David Bowie. Fans were particularly excited about the Prince tracks, as his estate rarely licenses his music for use in shows – and “Purple Rain” is a famously difficult song to secure the rights to.
I’m already tearing up after watching the final episode of Stranger Things 5! What a fantastic ending – they’ve completely won me over! It’s a perfect way to wrap up the series. Thank you, Duffer Brothers! Now, who can actually go to sleep after that?

Whenever I hear Prince’s “Purple Rain” now, I immediately think of the characters Eleven and Mike from Stranger Things.

It was really cool that Stranger Things featured songs by three of the biggest 80s artists: Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Prince. The Duffer Brothers deserve a lot of credit for that!
